Charm Tutorial

Saint Agatha is the patron saint of the city of Catania. Persecuted after rejecting the Roman governor Quintianus-having consecrated her life to the Christian religion-she was martyred on February 5, 251. To the "Santuzza," venerated as a saint, virgin and martyr, is dedicated one of the most beautiful and impressive religious festivals in the world, celebrated between Feb. 3 and 5, in which faith and folklore are mixed.
The bust of the saint, which contains part of the relics and is carried in procession on the ferculum, was made in the 14th century: made entirely of silver, it is covered with more than 300 jewels and votive offerings made of precious stones, some of which were donated by famous historical figures,the value of which has been declared priceless.
Our jewels are completely nickel free and are covered with a thin layer of palladium, to allow the gilding to last a long time.
In order to prolong the good hold of the jewels, implement small measures:
- store the jewel in its box or on a soft surface avoiding contact with other jewels;
- remove your jewelery before swimming or exercising, water and sweat can be harmful;
- If your jewel comes into contact with water, dry it immediately by dabbing it with a microfibre cloth;
- limit contact with chemical products, creams and perfumes as much as possible and handle them with care;
- if your jewel has suffered an impact, contact an Isola Bella Gioielli retailer immediately, or contact the Assistance Centre.

The search for origins goes through the study of the island's history and reaches back to the time of Magna Graecia, when each center in Sicily had its own coinage in which silver coins were made that were small works of art. An ornate charm pays homage to Messenion's 5th-century BCE sculptural tradition: on one side is a hare in the act of jumping, while on the other a charioteer leads a chariot while Nike holds a crown.
