The refined elegance of a noblewoman from Catania made Mirabella Imbaccari the city of lace-making. The Sicilian town is widely known for its lace-making tradition, which, according to some sources, spread in the early twentieth century thanks to Baroness Angelina Auteri, wife of Prince Paternò Castello di Biscari, who hosted in her palace-where she loved to spend her vacations-four nuns who were experts in embroidery to teach the art to the young women of the town. A history of beauty and art that has been handed down to the present day and also gives sap and inspiration to the goldsmith’s art.
