The horn-also called the cornetto or, in Neapolitan, curnicello-is one of the most common good luck charms, especially in southern Italy. Since ancient times, because of its shape, it has been considered auspicious as an emblem of fertility and physical strength. It is said that in order to best exert its power, it must be made by hand so that the positive energy of the creator is transmitted to the object. Thus was born an essential charm to give as a gift to wish protection and good luck.
