According to Greek myth, the beautiful Medusa, one of the three gorgons who had been transformed by Athena into a monster with hair made of snakes, is a symbol of strength and change after a difficult situation: from a beautiful and helpless maiden, Medusa became a fearsome “monster” that was difficult to defeat. The jellyfish, a sea creature, was so named because of its tentacles.
