The Jewels of Taste: the holiday table of Isola Bella Gioielli

Isola Bella Gioielli is preparing for Christmas with a food collection inspired by the colors and flavors of Sicily: The Jewels of Taste. Thus was born a line of products that is the ultimate expression of traditional holiday sweets, interpreted in an island key. An all-you-can-taste collection that brings together under one brand the best raw materials of the Sicilian territory, from citrus fruits to pistachios, and small realities of local producers, with the aim of networking and promoting the territory and the local economy.

Fratelli Sicilia, Amaravigghia and Azienda Agricola Vincenzo Trigona are the first partners of Isola Bella Gioielli: the idea is to always welcome new ideas and entrepreneurs who share a love for Sicily and excellence.

Bringing together the skills of local producers to generate something unique that will help raise awareness of Sicily’s food and wine wealth – This is how Alessio Strano, founder and manager of Isola Bella Gioielli, explains the inspiration behind the initiative of a new collection all to savor – the area’s businesses in this project team up to showcase the beauty of an island that has a vast architectural, cultural and food heritage, a networking of professionalism that triggers a healthy circular economy and puts products with a profoundly Sicilian essence on the market“.

Among the first Jewels of Taste were two panettoni cakes, one amaro, two trio of spreads and a box of small Sicilian goodness. To make the line, the recovery of genuine gestures and ingredients: the slow leavening of at least 48 hours, the use of mother yeast refreshed daily, the use of egg yolks from free-range hens, pure butter obtained by centrifuging cream.

The classic panettone by Isola Bella Gioielli has the sunny soul of artisanal candied fruit: orange, lemon and citron from short supply chains and orange blossom essential oils produced by a single family business that grows and processes the citrus fruits in the Plain of Catania; the traditional panettone recipe is enhanced by the addition of prickly pear shovel semicandied, a central element of the volcano landscape that becomes a protagonist to be savored even within the dough, enhancing the food use of a natural ingredient. A small masterpiece of pastry mastery which is complemented by pairing it with thebitter Amaravigghia, an end-of-meal digestif originating from theinfusion of citrus peels in combination with the 5 wild herbs that grow in the shade of Etna’s North Slope, available-as well as in the box paired with the panettone-also as a single pack.

The second leavened baked item, the Pistachio and Chocolate Panettone, encompasses all theintensity of Sicily’s green gold: Sicilian pistachio dough, garnished with nuggets of pistachio white chocolate, covered with fine extra dark chocolate and finally decorated with golden whole pistachio dragées. A triumph of the table accompanied by a mouth-watering 40% pistachio spread that deepens the tasting experience and makes it complete.

In the panettone boxes, in addition to the special food pairings, there is also an exclusive giveaway created by Isola Bella Gioielli: a scarf printed with Sicilian decorations to wear.

Completing the range offered by Isola Bella Gioielli is the box set of small crunchy pleasures – an assortment of almond and pistachio pastries, almond and pistachio nougat tokens from St. Agatha’s, almond and pistachio crunchy sheets – and two trio of Sicilian creams: the pistachio, almond and chocolate spreads, and the enveloping Citrus creams lemon, tangerine and orange flavor, as well as the Brut Etna DOC with a special label celebrating the brand’s made-in-Sicily style
