The White Lotus and the “Mediterranean Fever”

The White Lotus and the “Mediterranean Fever”

We have always said it: Sicily is a continuous source of inspiration!

Even America has fallen in love with this wonderful land full of contradictions, in which you can ski to the top of a snow-capped volcano and look at the sea.

If Indiana Jones chooses Cefalù for its filming, the second season of "The White Lotus," a top star at the last Golden Globes, is moving from Hawaii to Taormina.

Vespa rides through roads that take you up there where the scenery is breathtaking. The Baroque of the majestic villas of Noto, the beaches of Naxos and Cefalù, the majesty of the interiors of Catania's Teatro Bellini.

And it isimmediately booming with bookings to these places that have the charm of the dolce vita.

In his "Journey to Italy," Goethe wrote:

Italy, without Sicily, leaves no image in the spirit. It is in Sicily that the key to everything lies. [...] The purity of contours, the softness of everything, the yielding exchangeability of hues, the harmonious unity of the sky with the sea and the sea with the land. [...] Those who have seen them once will possess them for a lifetime."

It's hard to explain what it's like to be within a few kilometers of a rocky deep blue sea beach, to an emerald green one, or even to a beach of the finest white sand surrounded by waters so blue that you don't regret exotic places.

It is difficult to explain what it is about a place contaminated by an incredible mix of cultures where Arabs, Greeks, Spaniards, Saracens, Normans, and really many others have followed.

Here where from the black baroque of the streets of Catania, you are led to the white baroque of Syracuse, it is impossible not to be thunderstruck by so much beauty.

What our artisans do is just that: let yourself be enveloped by the landscapes, the colors, the fruits that only a black expanse of volcanic earth can give you and turn all this beauty into art, into a piece of jewelry.

Our jewelry are small works of art in that they are handcrafted and unique pieces, but they are even more so because they often draw inspiration from the art of these places.

So here is the"Balconies and Lace" collection, or the color-stripped collection of "Masks and Coins" from the NUDE line.

This is also how the most prestigious pieces in our Boutique that of the largest island in the boot, recall its scents and landscapes.

Thus were born the jewelry from the "Merletti" collection inspired precisely by Sicilian textiles and the special collection St. Agatha's Jewels, a hymn to the sacred that can perfectly blend with folklore.

Over the years our collections have stopped being ego-referenced by sticking only to purely Sicilian subjects. We have evolved by taking a look at the fashions of the moment but have never stopped being inspired by that piece of the Mediterranean that, once visited, remains indelible in the eyes and heart.
